Come on now Dennis, there is loads of room !
Cross the country to Norfolk & you will find we drive on narrower roads than that.....& still have two way traffic !
Personally I think Norfolk drivers are manic but you have to grit your teeth & go with the flow....good pic neverless !

Dennis, I have little doubt that Helen (of Troy) will back me up on this - in Norfolk this is the everyday norm on most B roads and parts of some A roads.
It isn't unusual to be faced with a lorry coming at you, or a farmer moving a wide combine.
It is very much a real driving experience!

Unfortunately most modern cars have got wider and country lanes where made for the horse and cart.Good job its not two( Chelsea tractors)SUV's or one would have to run on the grass verge

Exactly Gary !
We lived on a very narrow Norfolk country lane a few years ago & my brother was visiting from the US...just before our house there was a sign that stated ' Road Narrows '.....it prompted the comment from my brother....' How can it get any narrower ?' It did !

Good photo of a quaint area in Wigan Dennis. Steep and not as flat as Norfolk Helen, but a nice peaceful place with something in common.
No kerb or footpath to guide the artistic yellow line painter on his wobbly way. Perhaps he was on a quest to find the local Haigh windmill after tap room ales, and tales of Don Quixote in the nearby Balcarres Arms ?

Good photo Dennis was you walking?Brings back memories of holidays with the grandchildren we were driving down to Talland Bay in our Toyota 4 door pickup a single track road with passing points when a Range Rover came the opposite way so I reversed to a passing point my wife said did you see who was driving that Range Rover it was Richard Madeley apparently he lives down Talland Bay a great little beach in Cornwall great memories with the grandchildren cheers Dennis.

Nice picture Dennis, we have walked down that road many times but you have to have eyes in the back of your head if you don't want to finish up in Wigan Infirmary!

Same here Helen. Five miles in all directions from where I live all the roads are slightly narrower than this. Silage time etc means gridlock - at least two or three cars!!
