Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

The yard at the side of Crank & burtons, was the back yard entrance to Standishgate NatWest bank.
It was at the side of the small NatWest Market Bank on Woodcock St.
I parked regularly in that yard to pick my wages up by going through the back door of the Standishgate Branch.

Before that in the '40's, it was a long low shed which was the original Fish Market.. As a kid, I used to run past holding me nose, coz of the stink
