I was only thinking about this sort of stuff yesterday, and the internet is full of historical websites, such as Wigan World and Facebook in particular has umpteen groups about Wigan history and nostalgia, which when you get into your later years, you can wallow in the pictures and films of 40, 50, 60 + yeas ago, and your memories come flooding back.

BUT

It is not just the good memories which come back, for me it brings back some bloody bad memories, and sometimes I think I spend to much time in the past, when really I should be looking to the future, because the history has already happened.

"The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it”

In other words yoo can't do anything about what has already happened in the past, but yoo can do something about what is going to happen in the future, so I am not going to keep on wallowing in the past
